Policy
Wellbeing
Looking after the people who do our work.
Draft for board adoption. This policy will be reviewed and adopted by the board at its first meeting, then reviewed every year. Questions? Use our contact form.
Our commitment
People who deliver menopause and sexual health education may hear distressing stories. We look after their wellbeing as carefully as the wellbeing of the women we serve.
What we do
- Set reasonable workloads and realistic timelines.
- Offer a debrief after every session, and straight away after any disclosure of trauma or distress.
- Provide access to counselling support for staff and contractors where funding allows.
- Allow flexibility for carers and for cultural obligations, including sorry business.
- Plan regional travel to avoid fatigue and working alone.
Directors
Board meetings are kept to a reasonable length. A director can take a period of leave with the board's agreement.
Raising a concern
Anyone can raise a wellbeing concern with the Chair or any director. It is handled confidentially and no one is disadvantaged for raising it.
Review
The board reviews wellbeing and psychosocial risks at least once a year, alongside the risk register.
