Gift fund and receipting
How we accept, receipt and use tax deductible gifts.
Gift fund
All gifts, deductible contributions and money received because of them go into the gift fund, recorded separately in our accounts, and are used only for our principal purpose.
Receipts
Until we are endorsed, receipts say gifts are not tax deductible. Once endorsed, every receipt for a deductible gift shows the Foundation's name, its Australian Business Number, the date and amount, the donor's name, and a statement that it is a gift. Receipts are not issued where the donor receives a material benefit.
Records
We keep a record of every gift and receipt for at least seven years.
Loss of endorsement
If our endorsement is revoked or we wind up, surplus gifts and deductible contributions go to another deductible gift recipient that is also a registered charity, as our constitution requires.
