The Midlife
Foundation
Policy

Communications, media and social media

Who speaks for us and how we keep what we say accurate.

Draft for board adoption. This policy will be reviewed and adopted by the board at its first meeting, then reviewed every year. Questions? Use our contact form.

Who speaks for the Foundation

The Chair, or a director the Chair nominates. The founder may speak about the Foundation's work when the Chair has agreed.

Accurate claims

Every health claim is sourced and checked by the clinical director before it is published. We never promise a cure. Our materials are education, not medical advice.

Independence

Foundation channels never promote School of Sexual Wellness Pty Ltd or any commercial product. The Foundation keeps its own accounts and branding, separate from the founder's business.

Social media

  • Official accounts belong to the Foundation and have at least two administrators.
  • No participant's story, name or photo is shared without written consent.
  • Personal health questions are answered by encouraging the person to see their doctor.
  • Abusive or misleading comments are removed.

Funders and partners

We acknowledge funders and partners as their agreements require.

Media issues

Any media enquiry or criticism goes to the Chair the same day and is handled under the risk management policy (Policy 17).
